Malin Uhlén (b. 1989, Värmland) is a ceramic artist with a Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics and Glass from Konstfack, Stockholm.
Uhlén’s work explores moments between erosion and formation. Using traditional ceramic techniques alongside experimental methods, she breaks, reassembles and allows clay to collapse in the kiln. Through this process, she uses imperfection, letting the clay crack, bend and reshape into unexpected forms.
Inspired by both what is and what is about to take shape, Uhlén draws connections between physical formation and shifting perspectives. Her practice is grounded in the ways materials and experiences change us. She examines the fluid nature of matter and thought, and how this continuous change affects how we observe, experience and respond to our surroundings.
